The City of Albany Youth Employment Program offers youth, ages 14 to 20 years old, entry-level  part-time roles to grow their professional skills, network with business, nonprofit, and civil service  leaders. The Youth Employment Intern reports directly to their assigned worksite supervisor as  stipulated by the Youth Opportunity Office/Program. Interns will gain valuable work experience,  create professional partnerships, improve their time management and team building skills during  their internship. 

All efforts will be made to place the interns with a worksite that matches their future professional  goals. Please note, that might not always be possible. These are entry-level positions designed  for individuals with a strong desire to learn in their particular placement.

• Typical worksite duties will vary based on the worksite where the intern is assigned. Depending  on the worksite interns will work in a variety of roles: customer service, office administration,  marketing, audio/visual, computer technologies, camp counselor, advocacy, civil service,  shipping/receiving, social work, and nursing.

• Works with worksite supervisors and other team members on projects assigned by the worksite  management team.

• Interact with diverse communities effectively during outreach events.

• Other duties as assigned
