The incumbent is responsible for performing journey level electrical work including the layout out of work and diagnosis of malfunctions in electrical systems and equipment. The incumbent may direct the work of a small number of semi-skilled or relatively unskilled workers assigned to assist on jobs as they are needed. Employees in this class are allowed considerable leeway for planning the details of each job. However, set priorities and technical direction are provided as necessary. The nature of the work may require employees in this class to operate motor vehicles and power driven equipment.

Three (3) years of journey level full-time work experience, or its part-time equivalent, in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

A valid NYS Driver’s License is required at the time of appointment and for the duration of employment.
Position may require working on weekends and holidays, alternating shift assignments, and on an on-call basis
