The Albany Police Department is looking for a Special Operations Auxiliary Employee to provide a variety of services, such as
Observing & reporting conditions requiring the services of a certified Police Officer
Assisting in non-enforcement and non-hazardous duties
Helping with crowd and/or traffic control during public events (i.e., festivals, runs, and other special events
Various clerical tasks, such as answering phones, providing information to the public, visitors, clients, etc.

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
This position will require flexible hours including, weekends,
holidays, and working adverse weather conditionsMust have a valid NY State Driver’s License at time of appointment and for duration of employment
Must pass a background check, as well as medical + administrative screening
Event coordination experience is preferred
