As a Sanitation Equipment Operator you'll drive and operate a recycler/sanitation truck to collect and dispose of solid waste and recyclable commodities. Operators are responsible for the routine maintenance of equipment and may be required to perform related physical labor
Safely operate/drive a recycler/sanitation truck on an assigned route according to an established schedule to collect refuse, recyclables and yard waste.

*These are the minimum qualifications necessary by law to be considered for this position. If you do not have the needed experience or equivalent experience required for this role, kindly consider applying for another position with us.
One year of experience in the operation of a vehicle requiring a Class B license to operate;
Must be a current City of Albany employee that has completed the initial required (6) four-hour training sessions and has passed the hands-on testing under the City of Albany Training Program.
Eligibility and possession of a CDL class B license without air brake restrictions issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.
Ability to perform heavy labor for prolonged periods under adverse climatic conditions
Ability to service and to make minor repairs to motor vehicles
