Help victims of domentic abuse as a Domestic Violence Intake Specialist. In this critical role, responsibilities include:
Screening incoming cases by phone and in person
Meeting with victims of abuse and offer options + assistance for them and their children
Helping victims with legal procedures, such as securing Orders of Protection, referring victims to other community agencies for assistance, and routing paperwork
Supporting victims in crisis counseling and advocating for victims within the criminal justice system
Being available to police for assistance with victim for crisis counseling, shelter, etc.
Assisting the Domestic Violence Case Coordinator and police with community presentations and training

Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or one accredited by the NYS Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or Human Services, OR
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of paid fulltime experience in Criminal Justice or Human Services,; OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of above.
