Take charge as the next City Clerk for the City of Albany! In this role you will serve as the chief administrator for the Office of the City Clerk, as well as oversee the Office of Vital Statistics and act as Registrar for the City. Even more exciting: you will serve as the Secretary to the Board of Contract and Supply and the Records Access Officer.
As City Clerk, you'll be in the know, assisting in confidential internal operations, such as the preparation of local laws, ordinances and resolutions.
Other responsibilities include:
preparing Common Council agenda and calendar;
attending and recording minutes of Common Council meetings, caucuses and public hearings;
collects, preparing, distributing, and assisting in the acceptance formal bid proposals and specifications to contractors
processing all City FOIL (Freedom of Information Law) requests
preparing monthly reporting on all licenses and permits issued by the Clerk's Office such as dog, marriage, bingo, etc.;
